So today I went on a roadtrip with my girl Cheeks aka Steffie, to the other side of Holland.. a place where I never had been before..and a place where I have no reason to go for..except Vlisco, Vlisco Wax Hollandaise



They produce and sell traditional african wax farbrics national and international. These patterns and culture have been inspiring me for many years and I believe I have already used a piece of their beautifull fabrics a few years ago for a fashionshow during a previous education. We asked for information and walked out with a hella good goodiebag!

August 15th ... Customized ... "Tee"




Me, today.. a few minutes ago, enjoying summer's last sunshines. I must say this feels so good! Last couple a weeks I felt really strange, but I start to feel better again. The sun always helps me with this. When I looked at the pic after taking it I thought I'd post this in the fashion section, because of the top I'm wearin.. it's ...or was.. an old Diesel T-shirt.. which I customized. I think it totaly fits in this picture, nochalant, comfortable.. a lil strange .. but most of all "a feel good". I want to make more customized Tee's.

August 14th ... SHOES!... "Rick Owens & Nicholas Kirkwood"


So I have been surfin' on the net again in fashionwonderland, and today I spotted to designers who I actually didn't knew yet. First Nicholas Kirkwood.
A British Shoe designer who truly sees his designs as art. Most of his designs have a specific 'different' shape in it. I spotted these





at a post at photodecadent. And I'm very curious about how it really looks like, cause this picture isn't really informative right? But they look so hot! so different! I googled him and came on his website nicholaskirkwood.com and unfortionatly I didn't find that design.. but I found his new collection Fall 2008 and check this out:

Rick Owens:


American fashion designer who sure knows how to think drama. His designs are also very different..and I mean this in a good way. The shapes and silouettes are very interesting, and also these boots which I found in the same photodecadent-post as the Kirkwood-shoes

Normaly I'm not a big 'wide-design'-fan, but these boots are just so special! I had to post about them. I love new ideas who work..and this look definatly works for me, altho it's a total different style than mine. Here are a few other runway-shots.

August 7th ... MUT SHEN... "Concept/Design"

Just developing myself.. which also amuse me.. drawing..designing.. brainstorming about a concept, and idea.. I decided to work this lil concept out and post it..



MUT SHEN
MUT. . Mut was the divine mother goddess, the queen of all gods. She is portraied as a woman wearing a vulture headdress, with the double crown(Pshent) of upper and lower Egypt.
SHEN. . A loop of rope that has no beginning and no end, it symbolized eternity. The shen also seems to be a symbol of protection. It is often seen being clutched by deities in bird form, Horus the falcon, Mut the vulture. Hovering over Pharaohs head with their wings outstretched in a gesture of protection. The word shen comes from the word "shenu" which means "encircle," and in its elongated form became the cartouche which surrounded the king's name.




August 3d ... PARTY... "Zwarte Lola"


Yeah so a houseparty the second day of Amsterdam's International Fashion Week, organised by the female photography duo: Petrovsky&Ramone.



This Dutch duo has been photographing worldwide for magazines as ELLE and Avant Garde, and also captured a second of the lives of celebs as Amy Winehouse, M.I.A and Ludacris. The funny thing is, I already LOVED a few of their shoots..while I wasn't aware that it was theirs. I even used some of them in school projects. So I've been to their party! Yay! here are some pictures:

July 23th ... OFFSCHEDULE... "FashionEvent"

Lastweek's thursday I went to OffSchedule a fashion event in Amsterdam with my best friend Mario. There where several fashionshows from new designers (for more info check the website Offschedule.nl) And a Denim award. after the shows it continued in a party. We hadn't really good places, but it was still a nice experience.. here some pics I took (I didn't made moer pics during the shows.. cause the light and distance where horrible for my camera :( )












July 23th ... PURCHASES...

So the bag.. I bought somewhere last week at River Island. It's such a ME bag! White&Gold&Leopard... totaly love it! The two skirts I've bought on Waterlooplein, I also saw the piece of fabric and the funny thing is it includes the exact colors as the two skirts.. I already used it on the beach.. but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.. I see diff options so..






July 8th ...Spotted... 'Zoe-Heel"



Designer Christian Werner (Hamburg, Germany) got inspired to design and unsual shoe while shopping in Amsterdam. He thought: "Why is there so much material in the heel if it's only the silhouette that's important for the shoe's unmistakeable design?". The Zoe-heel has a light and open aluminium frame, with a 15 cm heel. I personaly love it! But I would love it more whithout the 'wooden-ish look' and the front shouldn't be round and square at the same time. I also would like to see it in just one color, like black or white. June 30th ...OsTYLE... 'Orlando O'neal"



It isn't new.. I got it for like 2 months now .. it's customized into a (hella) short dress.. Not by me.. but by people from Episode: vintage store in Amstedam .. made this picture today and thought I'd post it.. cause I love it a lot!



June 13th ...M0DELIN... 'Photoshoot for excolleage"

So I quit school (Amsterdam Fashion Institute), but I haven't quit my Connections&Friends. An ex-colleage (girl with orange jacket in 5ht photo: Alieda) called me, and asked me if I wanted to Model for a shoot and a fashionshow, for her finalproject this year. (A project which I actually had to do myself if I continued me education). I said yes, because I love to model, I like to help her, I can build up my portfolio, and because I think it's a statement: Leave this school with proud and no shame; I model for a project which I should've done myself .. lol. For people who aren't really much into fashion, the dress is high fashion and is not made for 'daily wear' it's like a piece of art, a piece of shapes& fabrics. So here they are:



June 4th ...OWNMADE... 'Checkered BellyBelt"



So I've been cleaning up my closet.. I live in this house for my whole life..so there's a lot of sshh I had to put in the TrashCan lol.. and I found this ^.A Checkered BellyBelt which I made ..ehhhm?? ..4 years ago XD. It was an accessory for my first fashionshow at my first fashion education. I tried it on..and I thought it looked pretty cute..and wore it again. The back has another checkered pattern as you can see. I think I'm going to make more of them.

June 4th ... FAVES... 'Tights#2"



Another 'Tights' post.. I was talking with my new friend Grace about tights on MSN, and I made a Photobooth picture of the tights I was wearing at that moment (these^) I thought the picture turned out pretty dope and I thought Imma post it ..

May 30th ... PURCHASES... 'Shopping with mom"

Today I asked my mom to join me, in shopping.. I always shop in Amsterdam, so I took her to the city, and showed her some vintage stores I frequently visit. First we went to Zipper and I bought a vintage Adidas jacket, some new squared ghettofab earrings, and some vintage "clicker" earrings. My mom didn't liked the store and said she saw a lot of trash.. and overwashed clothes, she asked me why I so much liked the store and I told her that 1. I don't buy the trash&overwashed clothes, I pick stuff that I like, and also because I know nobody haves it (because it's secondhand OR new&Exclusive).

Then we went to my next fave vintagestore Episode (Who also have an affiliate in London btw, I've been there too and bought a jacket & a skirt ^^) anywaays.. She liked this one better, and we stayed a while. I bought a black sweater with gold flower patterns on side.. (I'm always moaning about the temperature at home..and my mom always tells me to put on a sweater and then I always tell her I don't have one.. XD so..) and a yellow lacey and voiley thingy which normally is meant to wear as lingerie, but I'm planning to customize it and cut off the voile, and wear the lace thingy over my bra in an outfit for clubbin. Mayby I won't cutt the voile off, I don't know yet.
Ohyeah!! I also reserved a really hot blue&black suede jacket at Episode

May 29th ... ONLINESHOPPING... 'Fredflare.com"



Oh shhh!! I just found one of the cutest shoppin sites I've ever seen! Too bad/messed up that I can't buy anything from it, because I don't live in the US -___- But I just had to tell you guys about this. They have like anything, from women to men's clothing (Although the clothing isn't my style, I don't really like that) and from Accessory to interior stuff, from electronics to cute cookingbooks! The pictures above are some of my fave items, although it was hard to just pick 3 because I saw some other really dope stuff.. you should all check it out.. and buy something, and mayby be sweet and buy me something ^^.

One of my faves: tights! and specialy sexy tights, the classic black, with patterns as lace or roses.. I Lo-lo-lo-love it!, summer is coming so I won't be wearing them as much as I did anymore, but mann.. I can't get enough! these are from Med.com.gr

May 4th 'Newish-Old"

Now this brand, is nothing new. I can't even find Fall2008 collections! But I just so so love it! It's called Byblos. It's really futuristic, that's why I called this entry "Newish-Old" because their look is very new, but the "news" I'm giving you is very old actually.. But I just had to mentione it. I've seen advertisements in Italian Vogue's and used it for some projects at school. I love their sillouettes, fabrics, colors and shapes. It's so Innovating! april 25th 'Ay..! I got those too!"

I was surfing on style.com, and I viewed the Dries van Noten RTW Fall 2008 Collection when I came to this picture: I smiled, cause I just bought these same style of bracelets in London at a cute Indianshop at the Camden Market . The bright colors caught my eye. It's always nice to be remembered that I do have an innovative vision.
